BIO
Sam Polcer is a freelance photographer whose images have appeared in National GeographicThe New York TimesThe Wall Street JournalTime Out New YorkHemispheres, Brooklyn Magazine, Spin.com, Esquire.com and Travel+Leisure.com, among other places. You can view selected tearsheets here. His first book, New York Bike Style, was published by Prestel in 2014. (He also attempts to maintain a blog, Preferred Mode, featuring some of the photos from that project.)  Previously, he was an editor (of both text and photography) at Hemispheres, as well as a nightclub projections designer, flyer distributor, traveling circus spotlight operator, documentary filmmaker, DJ, video editor, blueberry picker, election campaigner and event A.V. producer. When he's not traveling on assignment, he spends as much time as he can in Brooklyn, NY.

Sam is also the Communications Director for the non-profit Bike New York, as well as a travel writer. Samples of his writing and editing work can be read here
