Sam’s images have appeared in National Geographic, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time Out New York, Hemispheres, Brooklyn Magazine, Spin.com, Esquire.com, Travel+Leisure.com, and many other websites and publications. You can view selected tearsheets here. His first book, New York Bike Style, was published by Prestel in 2014. (He also attempts to maintain a blog, Preferred Mode, featuring some of the photos from that project.) Previously, he was an editor (of both text and photography) at Hemispheres, as well as a nightclub projections designer, flyer distributor, traveling circus spotlight operator, documentary filmmaker, DJ, video editor, election campaigner and event A.V. producer. When he's not traveling on assignment, he spends as much time as he can in Brooklyn, NY.
